A “silver tongued” building company director who lauded his skills and expertise, only to leave family homes unfinished and $1.2m of debt before flying overseas, has been bankrupted by the same bank that repossessed his Range Rover.
Hardik Mungpapa, also known as Harry Patel, ran Cordial Homes - a building company with sites in Christchurch and Queenstown that had amassed dozens of clients by 2021.
The director was often seen driving around town in his 2021 Range Rover. The company also financed a jetski and dune buggy while business boomed, and hosted a generous Christmas party in 2022 for many of their contractors.
