May 21 (UPI) -- Police in Texas said an escaped kangaroo was safely wrangled with assistance from a local game warden and Texas Parks & Wildlife personnel.
The Elmendorf Police Department said on social media Wednesday that "We officially have 'kangaroo on the loose' checked off the city bingo card."
The post said authorities were working together to locate the Australian marsupial and warned members of the public to keep a safe distance from the animal.
Police later updated the post to report the kangaroo had been found and "taken into custody."
"No further hopping through city limits is expected at this time," officials wrote.
