Kuwait referred suspected Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps members to court over an alleged armed infiltration on Bubiyan Island.
Four suspects were arrested after arriving by fishing boat, with two escaping; a Kuwaiti security officer was wounded during the skirmish.
Prosecutors charged the suspects with attempted murder, border trespass, infiltrating a restricted military zone and targeting military and sovereign locations.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi rejected the allegations and demanded the release of the detainees, warning that Iran “reserves the right to respond”.
