A staggering 77% believe more green spaces in cities would help alleviate their stress levels.Mark Worgan15:16, 21 May 2026It’s an area of London known for its high-rise towers and shimmering metal.‌But today Canary Wharf became a fragrant spring meadow, filled with lush seasonal planting and the sights and scents of nature, using genuine Somerset pasture for cows.‌The installation by Yeo Valley Organic opened as new research revealed that 75% of Brits feel mentally lighter thanks to the arrival of spring.‌In fact, 65% say spending time in green space improves their mood within just 15 minutes, while 26% say the effect is instantaneous.As the days grow longer, we also enjoy eating outdoors, with 67% believing food and drink tastes better when the sun is out.‌But despite feeling happier and more energised in the spring and summer, 37% say they don’t have enough access to green spaces during the working week.
