After suffering catastrophic head injuries in a 30mph skateboarding accident, Gabe Poirot says he was 'suctioned' into Heaven where he met Jesus10:11, 21 May 2026A man who says he was “suctioned” into Heaven after suffering a near-death experience claims he met “face to face” with Jesus Christ. In October 2021, Gabe Poirot suffered a life-threatening brain injury. “I was riding an electric skateboard without a helmet,” he explains. “I hit a bump in the road and fell directly on my head.”Doctors were unsure if they would be able to save Gabe's life: "My skull was under so much pressure that it almost cracked wide open from the inside,” he said. As a result of his injuries, Gabe fell into a coma that lasted for 18 days. But as his body hovered between life and death, Gabe had an incredible experience.Speaking to podcaster Lila Rose, Gabe described the moment he ascended into Heaven and came face to face with Jesus. “He was about 5’11 or six feet tall,” he said.Struggling to put his experience into words, a clearly emotional Gabe added: "He was darker-tone skinned, closer to like Middle Eastern, yet eternity at the same time. So he was 33 yet eternal. His hair was medium-length – slightly curly is how I would describe it. Not super curly though, not flamboyant…”Gabe stresses that it’s impossible to truly describe what Jesus was like, or how Heaven looked, in conventional language. “I tell you there's no image you can hold in your hands that does him justice,” he told Lila.He says that the best representation of Christ’s appearance comes from the celebrated Shroud of Turin. But even that can never quite compare to the real thing, he explains: “The Shroud of Turin is a cloth yet it's not just a cloth. It represents the supernatural light of Christ. Because the light of Christ touched that cloth and so I love the Shroud of Turin.”Gabe adds that the shroud “points to” the true appearance of Jesus more accurately than any other representation, but it’s still a faded, imperfect image: “I would say it’s still a cloth – it can’t do him justice… I would say it does better than others.”The Shroud of Turin is claimed to be the cloth that Jesus Christ was wrapped in for his burial and is said to have the faint image of a man. Its authenticity, though, is often disputed.Heaven itself, Gabe adds, cannot really be described in conventional terms either. While it is in some senses a city Gabe claims it is simply another aspect of God himself. He continued: “I just saw a slight glimpse [of Heaven] and the slight glimpse that I saw was like – even the mansions only speak of Him. The houses, the buildings, the monuments, the libraries, they still speak of Him.“The books in the libraries, you read, you open the pages and He is the page. He is the letters and it's beautiful. The libraries are beautiful.”Gabe describes how, after remaining in a coma for 18 days, he miraculously regained consciousness. “The Spirit of the Lord woke me up,” he says.Article continues belowSoon after emerging from his coma Gabe began a rapid recovery. “It wasn’t just me coming out of the coma that was miraculous,” he said. “My memory was downloaded back into my brain over the course of a couple of days.” Within weeks, he was able to leave the hospital and resume his life.Gabe had been a devout Christian before his life-changing accident, but has now devoted his life to telling his story. He claims that while he was in Heaven he was shown that conflicts between people are inspired by demons, and that humans have no need to fight each other, saying: “I was just allowed to see chaos that was over the Earth. And I truly had a revelation. We do not war against people. People are not our enemy. And I saw just these demonic forces that were working to influence nations and presidents and people just like puppets.
