China’s football governing body has added 17 people to its lifetime ban list for match-fixing and gambling, according to the Chinese Football Association (CFA) on Thursday, as part of a crackdown on corruption in one of the country’s most popular sports.The latest penalties build on earlier rounds of punishment this year and in September 2024 that saw 116 individuals, including players and club officials, banned for life.Among those previously handed lifetime bans are former CFA President Chen Xuyuan and former national team coach Li Tie.More to follow...
