The health ministry in the Gaza Strip has said that between 6 and 10 patients die each day while waiting to travel abroad for medical treatment.
According to the health ministry, 1,400 patients out of 20,000 have died since May 7, 2024, when the Rafah border crossing was seized by the Israeli army.
Health official Zaher al-Wahidi highlighted that the number of life-threatening cases reached 195 patients, all in extremely critical condition, pointing out that this number is the remainder of 300 cases originally classified in this category.
Wahidi warned that if those patients in critical condition are not evacuated soon, they would lose their lives.
