Henckels Aktiengesellschaft has recalled more than 113,000 electric kettles in the United States after reports that the product’s handle can loosen or separate, causing hot liquid to spill and posing a serious burn risk.Costco announced the recall on May 14 affecting the ZWILLING Enfinigy 1.5-l and Enfinigy Pro 1.5-l electric kettle models. In addition to the units sold in the US, around 43,963 kettles were sold in Canada and 48 in Mexico. The kettles were sold at HomeGoods stores across the US and online through ZWILLING between December 2019 and February 2026. Prices ranged from $120 to $200.According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, “the kettle’s handle can loosen and separate from the kettle, causing hot contents to spill, posing a risk of serious injury due to a burn hazard.”Which product involves the Costco electric kettle recallThe recalled products are stainless-steel electric kettles sold in multiple colors, including black, silver, rose, gold, and pure white. The standard electric kettle model numbers that are impacted are 53101-200 and 53101-201. The model numbers of the pro electric kettle are 53101-500, 53101-501, 53101-502, 53101-503, and 53101-504. The model numbers and the “ZWILLING” branding can be found on the bottom of both the kettle and its power base.The company said it has received 163 reports of handles loosening or separating from the kettles. Among those incidents, five were linked directly to accidents involving the product, including one report of a second-degree burn injury.How to claim a refund for the Costco electric kettle recallConsumers have been urged to stop using the recalled kettles immediately and contact the company for a full refund.
