A fundraiser for the family of the pilot killed in the Mt Aspiring helicopter crash has raised over $110,000 in donations.

Tim Brown died alongside his friend Sean Roach on Sunday morning after the helicopter they were in went down in Mt Aspiring National Park.

Brown, the chief pilot, was believed to have been flying the Airbus AS350B3 belonging to Alpine Helicopter, on a chartered hunting trip.

The Givealittle page for Brown said his death came as “a heartbreaking shock, leaving an immense void in the lives of everyone who knew and loved him.”

Funds raised will go directly to supporting Brown’s family “during this incredibly difficult time.”
