The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed to expedite the constitution of the Delhi Ridge Management Board (DRMB) and sought progress reports on ridge protection, as per an order. “DRMB should be constituted and will proceed with the assigned work as expeditiously as possible,” the NGT order dated May 18 said. The counsel appearing for the DRMB informed the court that the constitution of DRMB is not yet complete but all the approvals have come, but did not submit any timeline on the deadline, as per an NGT order. The counsel appearing for the Forest Department told the court that notification in respect of phase-I of the central ridge as a reserved forest has been prepared and is likely to be published in “near future” and the court directed to place the same on record immediately after its publication.
