President Donald Trump said he could be Israel's next prime minister.Speaking to reporters ahead of the United States Coast Guard Academy graduation on Wednesday, May 20, the president said he "could run for prime minister" in Israel and that he is extraordinarily popular there."So maybe after I do this, I'll go to Israel, run for prime minister," Trump said. "I had a poll this morning. I'm 99%, so that's good."It was not clear what poll Trump was referring to, and the White House did not immediately respond to USA TODAY's request for comment.Benjamin Netanyahu is Israel's current prime minister and has served multiple terms since 1996. Trump has been a staunch supporter of Netanyahu, as the US and Israel have allied in the ongoing war against Iran.Trump says Netanyahu will 'do whatever I want him to do'When asked if he had conversed with Netanyahu about the state of the Iran war, Trump said, "He's fine. He's very, a very good man. He'll do whatever I want him to do. And he's a great guy. To me, he's a great guy."The May 20 remarks came a day after the president said he was considering "another big hit on Iran" and two days after he said he delayed possible strikes following progress on a possible deal to end the conflict."Don't forget, (Netanyahu) was a wartime prime minister. And he's not treated right in Israel, in my opinion ...
