While the scorecard may not look disastrous at first glance, the former MI captain never looked settled and threw away his wicket at a stage when Mumbai desperately needed someone to anchor the innings. For a player regarded as one of the most destructive T20 batters in the world, his IPL 2026 returns have been hugely disappointing.Suryakumar has now scored only 210 runs in 12 innings this season at an average of 17.50. Despite maintaining a healthy strike rate, his inability to play impactful knocks has badly hurt Mumbai’s campaign.The collapse against KKR once again exposed Mumbai’s biggest issue this season: their star players have simply failed to deliver consistently. And with MI already out of playoff contention, the criticism surrounding Rohit and Suryakumar is only going to grow louder.
