adsPeter Obi has crossed another key hurdle in his 2027 presidential ambition after securing clearance from the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) as the party’s sole presidential aspirant.
Following a screening exercise at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, the National Screening Committee led by former Education minister, Sam Egwu confirmed that Obi met constitutional and Electoral Act requirements and gave satisfactory responses during the process. Obi, who arrived with Senator Victor Umeh, was subsequently presented with an official clearance letter and presidential nomination form numbered 001.
With the screening stage complete, attention now shifts to the party’s forthcoming primary and the next phase of the 2027 political contest.
