Ongole Government General Hospital (GGH) reportedly saved the life of a patient who suffered a very rare and dangerous neurological disease by providing timely and expensive injections worth lakhs of rupees.Revealing the details to the media here on Wednesday, Ongole GGH Superintendent Dr. S. Manikya Rao said, “The government hospital is providing corporate-level medical services to the poor and even patients with the life-threatening conditions are being saved with the help of State-of-the-art equipment.”“Parasa Venkateshwarlu (32) from Kondepi village was admitted into the GGH two weeks ago with serious health problems. He exhibited symptoms like numbness in both legs and hands, severe cramps, falling down after taking two steps, making it impossible for him to stand up after sitting down.”The doctors from the GGH Neurology Department immediately rushed to the spot after observing the patient’s condition. Along with advanced neurological tests, CSF analysis was performed. He was diagnosed with a serious neurological disease called ‘Guillain-Barré Syndrome’.If not treated on time, the legs and arms can become completely paralysed and the patient can be confined to bed.
