Fox Sports has unveiled its full studio analyst and anchoring team for the 2026 World Cup.A press release from the network on Wednesday confirmed former Spain midfielder Thiago Alcântara, ex-Nigeria midfielder John Obi Mikel and former Colombia forward Juan Pablo Ángel will join former U.S. men’s national team pair Clint Dempsey and Fox regular Alexi Lalas, alongside two-time World Cup winner with the USWNT Carli Lloyd. They add to a previously confirmed lineup of former Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, former France forward Thierry Henry, ex-Mexico striker Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernández, former Netherlands midfielder Clarence Seedorf, ex-Denmark goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel and former USMNT forward Landon Donovan.Presenters Rebecca Lowe, Jules Breach, Pien Meulensteen will join Fox regular Rob Stone as the network’s World Cup anchors.Alcântara will make his broadcast debut this summer following his retirement from playing in 2024. He went to the 2018 World Cup with Spain and represented Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Liverpool at club level.Mikel captained Nigeria and represented his country 91 times, going to two World Cups. He retired in 2021, having spent over a decade at Chelsea, and hosts his own podcast. Ángel retired from playing in 2014 after a two-decade long career in which he enjoyed spells at Atlético Nacional, Aston Villa and New York Red Bulls.Dempsey worked as an analyst for Fox at the 2022 World Cup, and represented the U.S. 141 times during his playing career, appearing at the World Cup in 2006, 2010 and 2014.Lloyd joined Fox as an analyst following her retirement from professional soccer, having played 314 times for the USWNT, and has been a regular feature of the network’s major tournament coverage. NBC Sports’ Premier League host Lowe will make her Fox debut during the tournament, as will Meulensteen who covered the 2022 men’s World Cup and 2023 women’s tournament as a presenter and commentator.Jules Breach, who works for UK broadcaster TNT Sports, returns to Fox as an anchor, having presented the broadcaster’s coverage of the 2024 men’s European Championship and the women’s Euro 2025.Fox holds the domestic U.S. English-language broadcast rights to the World Cup for the fourth consecutive tournament. It unveiled its commentating and reporting lineup in April. Match analysts included Donovan and fellow former USMNT player Cobi Jones, former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves, Major League Soccer analyst Maurice Edu and former England goalkeeper Rob Green.Telemundo, which holds the Spanish-language World Cup broadcast rights in the U.S., unveiled its commentary, anchoring and analysts team for the tournament on Tuesday.Its extensive analysts team includes former Argentina forwards Gabriel Batistuta and Maxi Rodriguez, former U.S. striker Jozy Altidore, former Portugal striker Nuno Gomes, former Honduras striker Carlos Pavon, former Ecuador winger Antonio Valencia and former Spain midfielder Guti.Andrés Cantor and Luis Omar Tapia will lead the Telemundo commentary team.
