Israel’s Foreign Ministry said late on Tuesday that the latest international flotilla heading to Gaza to deliver aid “has come to an end”, and that 430 activists aboard its ships were being transferred to Israel.

The ministry said on X: “Another PR flotilla,” describing it as a publicity campaign, “has come to an end. All 430 activists have been transferred to Israeli vessels and are making their way to Israel, where they will be able to meet with their consular representatives.”

It added: “This flotilla has once again proved to be nothing more than a PR stunt at the service of Hamas.” The ministry said Israel “will continue to act in full accordance with international law and will not permit any breach of the lawful naval blockade on Gaza.”

Organisers of the Global Sumud Flotilla to Gaza said its stated aim was to “open a humanitarian corridor” and “break the illegal blockade on Gaza”.

In a post on X, the organisers said “the Israeli occupation has again illegally and violently intercepted our international fleet of humanitarian vessels and abducted our volunteers as they undertake a legitimate mission to break the illegal siege on Gaza and open a humanitarian corridor.”
