Golden Arrows have made a late season push back into the Top 8 and will most likely finish the Betway Premiership campaign in sixth place, after a strong resurgence under coach Manqoba Mngqithi.
At one stage it looked as though Arrows would fade into mid-table obscurity, but the Durban outfit have rediscovered their rhythm at the perfect time. The team has looked in perfect harmony as the season wraps up, finding a balance between their attacking and defensive play.
At times, Arrows have looked a bit shaky — mainly in front of goal. The lack of conversion rate, when compared to the chances they created, was worrying at times for Mngqithi but the team have consolidated their form and could end the season on a high on Saturday against TS Galaxy at Princess Magogo Stadium (kick-off 3pm).
Calm leadership from Mngqithi has steadied the ship and transformed Abafana Bes’thende into one of the form teams in the Betway Premiership heading into the final weekend of the season.
