Anker has developed this USB hub for use specifically with the recent MacBook Pro and MacBook Air—specifically ones using any of the M1 through M5 chips. It will not work with the new MacBook Neo laptop. It fits in snug and is built durably so you can comfortably handle your laptop and move it around while it is still plugged into the side.

High-Speed, High-Def

Anker’s 547 USB-C hub plugs into the two USB-C ports along the side of your MacBook. By doing so, you’ll now add back in the tow USB-C ports you lost along with five additional ports on top of that. Of the USB-C ports, the first one is multi-function, capable of super fast data transfer, power delivery, and media display. You can use this to charge your laptop at a high-speed of 100W or to connect to an external screen for a second-monitor experience. If you use it for an external SSD, you’ll be able to move files at a crazy fast 40 Gbps. That’s eight times faster than the speeds found on USB 3.2 Gen 1 and a staggering 83 times faster than USB 2.0.

The second USB-C is for connecting accessories like a mouse or keyboard, or for data transfer. Beyond that, Anker has added in two USB-A ports. All three of which are capable of transfer speed of up to 5Gbps.
