The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has assured Nigerians and international travellers that adequate screening and surveillance measures have been put in place at airports across the country to prevent any possible outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), following recent concerns over reported cases in parts of Central Africa.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, the authority said it had intensified health and safety protocols at all international airports in collaboration with relevant health agencies to ensure that Nigeria remains protected from the deadly virus.

“The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) wishes to reassure the travelling public and stakeholders that robust preventive measures have been put in place across all international airports in response to the recent Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) situation in parts of Central Africa,” the statement read.
