TravelEasyJetAn easyJet passenger says she was left fuming after a fellow traveller kept her foot in their footwell space on a two-hour flight10:53, 20 May 2026A mum was left furious following an incident on her easyJet flight, despite having forked out extra for additional legroom. Olivia Harrell, 33, felt compelled to call out a fellow passenger she claims was "womanspreading" during an easyJet flight to London Gatwick from Ljubljana, Slovenia last week.Olivia had paid a little extra to secure a seat with more legroom on her easyJet flight. However, upon settling into her seat, she was horrified to discover the woman to her left sprawled out, with her trainer-clad foot planted squarely in the footwell directly in front of Olivia. It took a full 20 minutes into the two hour, 15 minute flight before the inconsiderate passenger finally moved the offending foot. Olivia branded the other woman's conduct as 'rude', particularly given that she had paid a premium for her seat specifically to enjoy the extra space.Olivia revealed this is the second time such an incident has occurred in just three months. On the previous occasion, she admitted she 'accidentally' nudged the passenger's foot to prompt them to move it.Olivia, from Mildenhall, Sussex, said: "This has happened to me twice in the past three months. We were in an exit row and you have to pay more to sit here to get extra leg room."The lady next to me had her one foot in my foot space. I thought this was a bit ridiculous as we were in an exit row and we'd already paid for extra leg room."It's your bag and feet that go under the seat in front of you so I'm not really sure why she thought it was okay to put her foot in my space."Olivia says that she'd been considering asking her fellow passenger to shift their foot, but ultimately the woman repositioned it herself. "The woman sitting next to me [with her leg in my space] was the perfect example of 'womanspreading'," Olivia said. "She had her arms crossed and her hood over her eyes and wasn't bothered about her surroundings."She added: "I just thought it was rude to be honest. I had it happen to me before and I 'accidentally' kicked the person so they moved their feet. I think I would have probably done this here if they hadn't moved their feet on their own accord."Everyone agreed with me that it was rude. If you put your bag in someone else's foot space, they would ask you to move it so I don't know why they would put their feet there. Before we took off, I sent my friends the video and they agreed with me that it was rude and they were laughing."Article continues belowFollowing the video being shared on social media, others were quick to back Olivia's irritation. One wrote: "Rude," another commented: "Rude for sure, " while a third added: "Definitely rude for sure."EasyJet have been contacted for comment.Choose Daily Mirror as a 'Preferred Source' on Google News for quick access to the news you value.EasyJet
