Google’s DeepMind AI research subsidiary has reached a deal to hire more than 20 researchers from start-up Contextual AI and license Contextual’s technology, according to multiple reports.
The deal will include the hire of Contextual’s co-founder and chief executive Douwe Kiela, according to reports from outlets including Bloomberg and Reuters.

Google paid between $80 million (£60m) and $90m to Contextual for the deal, Reuters reported, while unnamed people told Bloomberg the deal was worth roughly $100m.
