The UAE Ministry of Defence announced on Tuesday that the drones involved in the recent attack targeting the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant were launched from Iraq.
According to the ministry, the incident likely involved armed groups operating from Iraqi territory, amid accusations that Iranian-backed militias have repeatedly carried out drone attacks against Gulf states since the outbreak of the US-Israeli war against Iran on 28th February.
Emirati officials said the attack struck a power generator near the Barakah facility but caused no injuries or radiation leaks.
The UAE has recently accused Iran of continuing drone and missile attacks despite the ceasefire that took effect in April.
