Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is an Indian actress and model who was the winner of the Miss World Pageant in 1994. She is mostly known for her work in Tamil and Bollywood films. She has been named one of the most influential and popular celebrities in India. The actress was born on November 1, 1973, in Mangalore. She has received two Filmfare awards throughout her acting career and has been honored with the Padma Shri in 2009. In 2012, the Government of France honored her with the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. Indian media has often cited her as the world’s most beautiful woman. Aishwarya made her acting debut with the 1997 Tamil film ‘Iruvar’ by Mani Ratnam.
