Carrie Johnson opened up about when she was drugged by black-cab rapist John Worboys as a student - she said the spike drinks he gave her left her feeling like 'she wanted to die'09:12, 20 May 2026Carrie Johnson has warned rapist black-cab driver John Worboys could have "up to 1,000, if not more" victims of his horror sex crimes.‌Johnson, the wife of former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, previously revealed she encountered Worboys back in 2007 when she got into his taxi late at night. She said the man had apparently offered her drinks lace with drugs after claiming he had won money.‌Johnson opened up about her encounter with the criminal cabbie, back when she was a student, and revealed more women have reached out to her claiming to be victims of Worboys, as she slammed the police for their response to the case.‌READ MORE: Black cab rapist John Worboys denied parole for second time - 'excellent news'READ MORE: Victim of black cab rapist John Worboys vows to keep him in jailWorboys was first jailed in 2009 for 19 sexual offences linked to attacks on 12 victims between October 2006 and February 2008 in London, and given an indefinite sentence for public protection with a minimum term of eight years. Johnson, speaking to Good Morning Britain, claimed the number of victims could be much higher.She said: "The truth is that his crimes span from, what we know, from 2000 up to when he was convicted in 2009. And he was a cab driver for that duration, out potentially every night in his cab, so there could be up to 1,000 if not more than that."‌Johnson added that more women have come forward to her since the miniseries about Worboys' victims - named Believe Me - was released. She said women have messaged her on Instagram "telling me that they think they are in Worboys' cab too".Speaking about her encounter with Worboys, Johnson said she had been a 19-year-old university student when the cabbie drugged her but said she had a "lucky escape" from being potentially assaulted. Johnson said while she managed to pour one glass of champagne offered to her onto the floor, Worboys later returned with a bottle of vodka, which she would discover had been spiked. She said she got out of the taxi before she passed out.She said: "If it had been a few minutes later I would have passed out." Johnson added that she went home and shared a harrowing message to her mum, and said: "I just remember telling my mum I wanted to die ever so bad."‌Johnson slammed the Met Police's response to the case and said there "needs to be one person within the Met Police to deal with Worboys victims". She said: "The way the girls were treated by police was truly shocking."Johnson added: "Rape cases are treated very differently by the police than any other crime." She told GMB: "If my car was stolen, if I went to the police, I think they would believe me, and I think they would write down the evidence accordingly."But if I go and say I've been raped, I'm not sure they necessarily do. They at least don't act like they do. They question one's integrity." The Mirror has reached out to the Met Police for comment.Article continues belowYears later, allegations against Worboys emerged and a friend Mrs Johnson had confided in contacted her about the case. Johnson said she was able to identify him in a line-up and provided the police with a mobile phone number he had given her.The publicity around the case led further victims to come forward, and Worboys was charged with more crimes dating between 2000 and 2008, which he admitted. In 2019, he was handed two life sentences with a minimum term of six years.Worboys was denied parole for a second time, last week, after a board ruled that he remained a threat to women. He will be considered for parole again in around two years' time.
