The prosecution has been given time by the Supreme Court to locate a missing file that highlights an accused's criminal history.

A man in his 40's, Ilaita Tafili, has applied for bail in the Supreme Court through his lawyer, Unasa Iuni Sapolu. Tafili was charged after a drug raid at Vaitele-Fou on 22 December, 2025.

Tafili was found with 42.8 grams of meth during the raid, and when he appeared in court in April this year, bail was opposed by the prosecution, saying that he had previous convictions for similar charges.

Sapolu, in her bail application, said the accused needs to provide for his family, and he was remanded in custody since his arrest.

When the bail hearing was called on Wednesday, Justice Leiataualesa Darryl Clarke asked the prosecution for records to show the previous charges against the accused.
