The 80-year-old retired printer went to Royal Blackburn Hospital on November 20 for an outpatient appointment. But as he entered the building, the revolving door at the main entrance "slowed or stopped, which caused him to fall."‌Geoff suffered several traumatic fractures and was admitted to the hospital. Area coroner Kate Bisset said: "As he entered the building via the revolving door it slowed or stopped which caused him to fall."Mr Walker sustained traumatic fractures in the fall and was admitted for pain management. In the course of his admission, Mr Walker developed infections and his pre-existing health conditions deteriorated.‌"He died as a consequence of congestive heart failure and pneumonia but his death was contributed to by the injuries he sustained in the fall which impacted his ability to compensate for existing health problems."‌The coroner returned a narrative conclusion, adding: "Geoffrey Maurice Walker died on the 16th December 2025 at the Royal Blackburn Hospital. Mr Walker had attended the hospital on the 20th November 2025 to attend an outpatient appointment."As he entered the building via the revolving door it slowed or stopped which caused him to fall.
