Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola is drawing renewed international attention after his memoir, Making It Big: Lessons from a Life in Business, was shortlisted for the 2026 BCA African Business Book of the Year award.
The nomination places Otedola alongside some of the continent’s leading economists, business thinkers and corporate storytellers at a time global investor interest in African business leadership and homegrown success stories continues to rise.
The shortlist was announced on Monday by the Business Council for Africa, which organises the annual prize in partnership with Africa Finance Corporation, African Business and BrandComms.
Now in its fourth year, the award has quickly become one of Africa’s most respected recognitions for books exploring the continent’s business climate, economic transformation and investment opportunities.
The winner will be announced on July 3 at the Institute of Directors in London.
