By Malay Mail Wednesday, 20 May 2026 9:08 AM MYT JOHOR BAHRU, May 20 — Johor police have opened an investigation into a woman’s allegation that she was shoved by a group of individuals dressed in black, resulting in physical contact, during a gathering in the city on Sunday, according to Sinar Harian.Acting Johor police chief Deputy Commissioner Hoo Chuan Huat said police received a report at 2.16pm yesterday from a 32-year-old local woman over the incident.He said the woman claimed she was pushed by a group dressed in black, leading to physical contact while attending the gathering.“The matter also went viral after receiving media coverage and several videos of the incident were uploaded on social media,” he said in a statement last night.Hoo said police are conducting further investigations and several witnesses will be called to assist in the probe.He advised the public against making speculation or comments that could interfere with investigations.Police also urged those with information on the incident to contact the nearest police station, the Johor police hotline at 019-2792095, or the Johor police contingent headquarters operations room at 07-2212999.Earlier, Kelab Media Johor (KMJ) expressed regret over an incident involving commotion and alleged harassment against media personnel covering the Pakatan Harapan convention in Johor Baru on Sunday.KMJ said the incident occurred while media personnel from Johor and Kuala Lumpur were carrying out coverage duties and attempting to obtain reactions from party leaders.
