Tyson Peter Griffin Adams, 34, threatened to murder his then partner, Emily Erickson, after an argument at the Canterbury Club in August 2023.
Afterwards, he acted like everything was normal, but for Erickson it was the night she realised what he was capable of.
Adams, who ran the now liquidated Wholesale Motors Christchurch, was sentenced to seven months’ home detention by the Christchurch District Court on Wednesday on charges of threatening to kill, possessing a Taser, and breaching a protection order.
Adams looked at Erickson twice as she read out her victim impact statement: when she walked to the stand, and when her tears almost stopped her from continuing.
