Anthropic has reached a deal with SpaceX to use compute capacity at the company’s Colossus 1 data centre in Memphis, Tennessee, as Anthropic seeks to ease availability issues.
The deal will see Anthropic gain access to more than 300 megawatts of compute capacity at Colossus 1, or 220,000 Nvidia GPUs, “within the month”, Anthropic said.
Anthropic said this represents all of the power of Colossus 1, which was originally constructed by AI start-up xAI in 2024 to train the company’s Grok model.
