The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Cybersecurity Bureau on Wednesday said it is investigating the cause of inaccessibility issues on the website of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) and Official Gazette. While the two websites are now restored and accessible, the DICT said that its National Computer Emergency Response Team (NCERT) is conducting a thorough investigation and is preparing the necessary audit logs. “DICT-NCERT is actively collaborating with the PCO to verify whether the earlier downtime was the result of scheduled maintenance, configuration updates, intentional administrative actions, or other external causes,” the agency said in a statement. According to the DICT, the websites’ inaccessibility was reported at around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.Technical teams were then deployed to assess the situation and initiate restoration procedures. The websites have been fully restored as of 12:28 a.m. on Wednesday, said the DICT, and are currently accessible to the public. “Users may, however, experience slightly slower page loading times than usual as system optimization continues,” the agency added. —VAL, GMA News
