Peter Mandelson will still appear in a landmark new Channel 4 documentary about Sir Tony Blair – but the broadcaster has dramatically cut back his contributions after police launched an investigation into the peer’s links to Jeffrey Epstein.
Mandelson was interviewed on camera for The Tony Blair Story, a major three-part series, charting the former prime minister’s meteoric rise, his decade in Downing Street and post-politics career, which launches next Tuesday.
The disgraced former US ambassador, who played a key role in the creation of New Labour and backed Blair to become party leader in 1994 over rival Gordon Brown, was set to appear prominently in all three episodes, The i Paper understands.
