When the restructuring was first announced, the company said that about 110 jobs were on the line.In addition to the layoffs, some train drivers may be furloughed — or temporarily laid off — for a period of 90 days as the company looks to reduce staff costs.VR also held restructuring talks with local train conductors last year, with 130 employees ultimately losing their jobs.
