An iPad Fold has been rumored for years now, but so far none of the predicted launch timings have panned out. One of the more recent reports even suggested that it was a bit of “a wacky experiment” that may never see the light of day.
However, one leaker with a decent track record believes that the product is still in the works and that the iPhone Ultra (or iPhone Fold) is going to take us a significant step closer to an iPad Fold launch …
The iPad Fold rumors to date
There has been considerable confusion about exactly what kind of device the company was working on. Early reports suggested that it might be a MacBook with a soft keyboard that opens up into a very large display. Others described it as a folding iPad, and that now seems to be the consensus view.
There has been some degree of consistency when it comes to the display size of the device. Reports have variously suggested somewhere in the 18 to 20 inch range before seemingly coalescing on 18.8 inches.
