Business turnover recorded positive growth in the first quarter of 2026, according to data released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT).Based on ELSTAT data, total turnover across all businesses and economic activities reached 111.272 billion euros in the first quarter of 2026, marking an increase of 2.6% compared with the first quarter of 2025, when turnover stood at 108.48 billion euros.The strongest increase in turnover during the first quarter of 2026, compared with the corresponding period last year, was recorded by businesses operating in the construction sector, which posted growth of 17.4%. In contrast, the largest decline was registered in the accommodation and food service activities sector, where turnover decreased by 1%.Double-digit growth in MarchFor all businesses across the economy required to maintain double-entry accounting records, for which monthly data are available, turnover in March 2026 amounted to 34.787 billion euros, representing an increase of 12% compared with March 2025, when turnover had reached 31.067 billion.The construction sector again recorded the strongest increase in turnover in March 2026 compared with March 2025, posting growth of 27.3%, while the largest decline was recorded in the real estate management sector, where turnover fell by 1.3%.
