A former three-term member of the House of Representatives representing Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency, Jimoh Ojugbele, has pledged to improve on the achievements of the incumbent senator, Adeola Olamilekan Yayi, after emerging winner of the All Progressives Congress senatorial primary for Ogun West Senatorial District.

Ojugbele defeated three other aspirants to clinch the party’s ticket with a total of 85,552 votes, becoming the APC flag bearer ahead of the 2027 general election.

Announcing the result, the Returning Officer for Ogun West, Dr Dapo Odukoya, disclosed that Ojugbele secured the votes from the 86,811 accredited voters.

Speaking shortly after the announcement of the results on Monday, the former lawmaker commended the peaceful conduct of the exercise, describing the primary election as free, fair, and crisis-free across the district.

Ojugbele said, “First of all, we have to thank God for today’s election. It was free and fair in my ward, and from the information I gathered from other local governments and wards, the election was free and fair, with no crisis.
