Fidan says Türkiye, Germany to maintain close coordination

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has said Türkiye will continue close coordination and cooperation with Germany on bilateral, regional and international issues following talks in Berlin.

Fidan made the remarks in a post on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal after his official visit to Germany, where the third meeting of the Türkiye-Germany Strategic Dialogue Mechanism was held.

The meeting was co-chaired by Fidan and German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul. Fidan also met Chancellor Friedrich Merz and North Rhine-Westphalia State Premier Hendrik Wüst during the visit.

Fidan said the previous meeting of the mechanism had been held 12 years ago, adding that the latest session showed the two countries’ shared will to advance strategic cooperation.
