NextEra Energy agreed to buy Dominion Energy in a roughly $67 billion deal that would create the largest U.S. electricity producer and represent one of the biggest tie-ups of the year.
"Any time there's a lot of activity and high-level growth [in a sector], you see more merger-and-acquisitions," said J.D. Joyce, president of Houston financial advisory Joyce Wealth Management.
