LG Electronics has expanded its cooling technology portfolio in Nigeria with a broader range of inverter-powered refrigerators aimed at helping households reduce energy consumption and manage rising electricity costs.
The company said in a statement that the expansion reflects growing consumer demand for energy-efficient and durable home appliances as inflationary pressures and unstable power supply continue to shape spending patterns among Nigerian households.
According to LG, refrigerators account for a significant share of residential electricity consumption because they operate continuously. To address this challenge, the company said its inverter compressor technology automatically adjusts cooling power based on usage conditions, improving energy efficiency while maintaining stable temperature control.
LG noted that the technology also supports better food preservation by enabling faster cooling recovery after power interruptions and maintaining consistent internal temperatures, helping households reduce food spoilage and waste.
