The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Ajibola Basiru, has described the ruling party as the only viable political platform capable of winning elections in Nigeria, dismissing opposition coalitions as politically ineffective ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during an interview on Arise News on Monday, Basiru said politicians seeking electoral victory would naturally align with the APC because, according to him, “the only veritable machinery for winning an election in Nigeria today is the APC.”
“In any event, it makes sense for anybody who is a politician and wants to win an election to align with the APC,” he said.
Basiru added, “All other political concussions, calling themselves coalitions or something like that, they are not veritable election machinery. They are just, I mean, comedians and jokers.”
