Whether for gas or groceries, it’s no secret that prices have been rising in recent months, and now, that has extended to mobile coverage as well.
AT&T quietly unveiled a rate hike last month, while Verizon raised prices on select multi-device plans last year. Now, T-Mobile, which has also raised prices (though just once in the last decade), has entered the fray with a new “15-Minute Switch” offer that seeks to win over customers looking for a reprieve on rising costs.
T-Mobile’s deal promises a quick and painless switch from any mobile carrier over to “America’s Best Network,” as T-Mobile calls itself online (worth noting: a network performance analysis last year by the online metrics agency Speedtest by Ookla actually awarded T-Mobile the distinction of being the “Best Mobile Network in the U.S.”).
With 15-Minute Switch, you can pick a plan and a phone in just 15 minutes. You can either bring your own device (BYOD) or swap it out for a new phone. Making the switch to T-Mobile is easier than you think, with no need to visit a physical store or get on the phone with a customer service rep. Everything can be done online. In fact, T-Mobile says you can sign up and check out in 15 minutes on T-Mobile.com. The carrier will also help you pay off your existing phone up to $800 (via a virtual prepaid card).
