Iranian media outlets reported that wedding ceremonies for 1,000 couples associated with the state-backed “Jan-Fada” (Those Who Sacrifice Their Lives) initiative are being held across Tehran. The project was launched after the outbreak of the conflict involving the United States, Israel, and the Islamic Republic, and has been promoted by authorities as a symbol of public loyalty to the regime.

According to reports, the ceremonies are set to take place simultaneously in several major squares across Tehran on the evening of Monday, May 18. Among them, a ceremony for 110 couples is scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM in Imam Hossein Square.

State-affiliated media have referred to the initiative as the “Celebration of the Celestials.” Over recent weeks, the “Jan-Fada” campaign has received extensive promotion from government-linked institutions and media networks, with officials presenting it as evidence of strong “popular support” for the Islamic Republic.

However, the initiative has faced criticism and skepticism since it was introduced, particularly over questions surrounding its actual membership numbers and registration process. Critics and social media users have accused authorities of inflating participation figures and manipulating the campaign’s statistics.
