Maritime tracking platform TankerTrackers reported that three U.S.-sanctioned oil tankers linked to the Islamic Republic’s fleet have recently crossed beyond the United States’ naval blockade perimeter while traveling empty.
According to the report, the tankers moved through Pakistan’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) before continuing toward Iranian waters.
The Anadolu Agency, which republished the report, said the movement of the vessels comes at a time of continued tensions between Iran and the United States in the Persian Gulf.
Tracking data shared by TankerTrackers also showed that the tankers had changed course in recent days and redirected toward Iranian-linked ports and waters.
