Hive Digital Technologies' subsidiary, Buzz HPC, is planning a 320MW data center in the Greater Toronto area of Canada.

The data center will be designed specifically for AI workloads, and is expected to host more than 100,000 GPUs at full build-out.

The data center will be located across two parcels of land with a total of 25 acres, which were purchased for CA$58 million (US$42.21m), and already have a 320MW power allocation.

The data center will increase the sovereign AI capacity in Canada, and is located between Geoffrey Hinton’s legacy, the University of Toronto, and the Vector Institute to the east, and Waterloo to the west.
