Battery-electric vehicles made up nine out of 10 of all vehicle sales in April, a new high for the world’s largest car and EV market, as surging oil prices delivered a shock to petrol car drivers.
Geely’s Binyue was the only petrol-powered car in the top ten, at No. 8, with sales of 14,923 units, according to automotive platform Dongchedi, with the rest being battery EVs.
In March, petrol cars still held five of the top 10 spots, Dongchedi said, marking an abrupt shift.
