Authorities have recalled finger painting kits that contain toxic substances and could potentially be harmful to children.The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) said the Kiddo Space finger painting kits included a round paint palette and colouring books that contained methanol, ethylene glycol and a phthalate.“(There is) risk of serious health effects including death if children ingest the fingerpaint,” an ACCC spokesman warned.“There is a risk of skin irritation and swollen lymph nodes from contact with the fingerpaint.”The kits were made in China and sold online at The Kiddo Space between October 2023 and January 2025.Consumers were told to stop using the finger paint immediately and keep the product out of reach of children.“Write ‘Recalled’ on the back and lid of the finger-paint pad and submit a photograph of the marked product to info@thekiddospace.com to receive a full refund,” a spokesman said.“Dispose of the toys once the photograph is submitted in accordance with local waste disposal requirements.”Anyone who needs further information or assistance should visit The Kiddo Space website or email info@thekiddospace.com.
