President Donald Trump shared on Truth Social an interview given by Greek Minister of Environment and Energy Stavros Papastavrou to Breitbart, in which the Greek minister argued that the “trademark move” of Trump’s foreign policy toward both allies and adversaries alike is “energy diplomacy.”

In the interview with Breitbart Washington Bureau Chief Matthew Boyle, Papastavrou also outlined Greece’s increasingly strategic role in the emerging energy map of the Eastern Mediterranean and Europe.

Trump’s decision to personally repost the interview can be interpreted as a sign of the growing importance the White House attaches to Greece’s role in the evolving geopolitical and energy architecture of the Eastern Mediterranean, particularly at a time of heightened instability in the Middle East and growing concerns over global energy security.

Speaking from the sidelines of the Delphi Economic Forum, Papastavrou described energy as a central pillar of US geopolitical strategy under Trump, arguing that the American president has transformed energy policy into a key instrument of diplomacy and national security. “Energy has taken on a geopolitical dimension and is directly connected to national security” he said, pointing to initiatives such as the National Energy Dominance Council and the broader US push to strengthen transatlantic energy cooperation.
