Afualo Daryl Mapu, a former Assistant Electoral Commissioner who was arrested again by police last month in a drug raid, appeared in the Supreme Court and pleaded not guilty to all eight drug charges against him.
Two other defendants, Mapu's wife Anasaini Mapu and Marie Fanueli, have also pleaded not guilty to all the drug charges against them.
Mapu was arrested by police during their raid at Aleisa last month, while his wife was arrested when an investigation confirmed that she had in her possession methamphetamine at the National University of Samoa, where she worked.
The third defendant, Marie Fanueli, was also arrested and was charged with possession of an illegal firearm.
Mapu and Fanueli are both out on bail. The court has set 2 November as a hearing date.
