Biman Bangladesh Airlines has placed its largest-ever aircraft order — 10 Boeing 787 Dreamliner and four 737 MAX planes — to expand and modernise its fleet. The order includes eight 787-10s, Biman’s first order of the largest 787 variant, to serve the high-demand West Asia route; two 787-9s for long-haul service to Europe and North America; and four 737-8s, the airline’s first 737 MAX order, for destinations across West Asia, India and Southeast Asia, says a joint announcement. Biman currently operates 14 Boeing airplanes — 787-9s, 787-8s, 777s and next-generation 737s — on its international networks. The airline will boost passenger and cargo capacity while improving fuel efficiency with the 787-10, which offers the lowest cost per seat of any widebody airplane, the statement says.Emirates, GE Aerospace ink MRO dealEmirates has signed an agreement with GE Aerospace for technical and training consultancy to develop piece part component repair capabilities for GE90 and GP 7200 engines.
