The new conversation in the military about the need to curb "Jewish terror" evokes disbelief on the left side of the political spectrum. Could it be that the ones who stoked the terror for years will now restrain it? It does seem the army is at least trying to change gears, even if success is not assured. The army has drawn a clear line regarding this phenomenon and has condemned it in unprecedented fashion. Border Police operations against violent settlers have expanded. Settler-based regional defense units have been downsized, and the police have established a task force committed to fighting Jewish terror, among other actions.
